Welcome!

After much deliberating, I've decided to start a blog. Jerad and I are so proud of our first home. We are constantly working to improve it, so we thought we'd share our journey with you. Happy renovating!

Curb Appeal

We spent most of Saturday doing yardwork.  Jerad mowed the lawn-

Our four crape myrtels are blooming nicely.

We bought new pots for the front yard for $20 from Walmart.  One thing I've been learning with the house is that it's BIG and therefore the size of my decor should be BIG as well.  When we first bought the house, I bought and planted the small pots on the left. They hardly popped when driving by the house.  The new pots are darker and due to the height of the Irises, your eyes are drawn upwards!  Much better.

Another view- we have Irises, periwinkles and sweet potato vines in the new pots.

Our bed on the left front of the house is growing well.  Two cannas have started to bloom!

We replanted our broken boot with sweet potato vines.  Jerad bought the boot for me from Home Depot a couple years ago for my birthday.  It fell over and cracked, but we still enjoy it =)

We bought two additional chairs for the backyard from Walmart for $17.  Now we have seating for six on the back patio.

Our back bed is exploding.  Check out our squash (large plant in the front)- we should have some of its fruit soon!  Our cannas are blooming as well.

Frisco loves yardwork too.  Hope you had a great weekend!
