Welcome!

After much deliberating, I've decided to start a blog. Jerad and I are so proud of our first home. We are constantly working to improve it, so we thought we'd share our journey with you. Happy renovating!

B.C.

B.C. passed away a couple weeks ago.  Although I can't say that I'm not sad about it, I know he was ready and I'm pleased that he lived a full life of love, faith and happiness.  I'm going to miss many things about B.C., but I'll carry most of his characteristics with me in my heart, for the rest of my life.

Here are a few favorite pictures from my trips to Arkansas.

Dressed up on Sunday, ready for church

He was always concerned about his love of 68 years

On their back porch, ready for dinner

Mimi typically hurried us back from dinner so we could eat her homemade dessert

B.C. was probably sitting at the table waiting for Mimi's delicious desserts!

During every visit, he'd bring you into his office for a heart-to-heart chat...how's business? how's your married life? do you have your head on straight? make good, honorable decisions

We'd typically always make a stop for some Arkansas BBQ- B.C. was drinking his Coke from a mason jar

Sharpening his knife so he'd make perfect cuts on the Thanksgiving turkey and ham.

Most of all, B.C. loved nature....and to teach about nature
 Picking flowers with Drew

Taking Drew for a walk around the farm

Checking on his garden.  Unbelievable that he maintained this through his upper 80's

Picking Okra

Easter of this year- my last trip to see him healthy

The last time I saw B.C.

At the church, celebrating his life!  Lots of love to you, B.C.

Garza Baby Shower

A couple weeks ago, I hosted a couples baby shower for Tiffany and Victor.  Here are some of the fun decorations I put together for the party!

I started with some leopard fabric, onesies and wooden figurines from Walmart...and a grass skirt and tissue paper fans from Party City.  I bought glue sticks and stuck them on the back of the animals so we could stick them in appetizer bowls, cupcakes, etc.

Then I built the table.  The first layer was my table pad to protect the table from spills/ dings, etc.  I safety pinned the grass skirt around the perimeter, then added a brown tablecloth on top.  Lastly, I bunched the leopard cloth  and added some different boxes underneath so that different platters would have different heights.

The table all put together!

Brooke made an adorable diaper cake using a wrapping-paper roll in the middle, as a base.  And Kelly picked up some Society Bakery mini-cupcakes in similar colors.

I used the left over grass skirt from the table to decorate my entry-way with onesies and paper fans.

Tiffany's mom decorated these adorable block letters for Victor Philip.

All in all, it was a great party with tons of personality! We can't wait to meet Baby V.P.!

Neighborhood Co-op

Jerad and I were shoppers this weekend at the Farmers Market for our neighborhood co-op.

Cost- $10/ two weeks
What you get- Two bags full of fruits and veggies

So here I am, organizing the bags...making sure we have $10 and two bags per family.

6:30 AM- at the Farmers Market, adding our selections to the car

Stuff to be loaded

Then we lined up the bags...fruits on right, veggies on left and unloaded the car

Jerad is so happy!  He loves it when I sign him up for these things!

The other side- lettuce, onions, carrots, broccoli, cucumber , tomato and I think thats it.  Happy healthy eating!

B.C.

A mixture of emotions today.... Selfishness over losing my grandfather...blessed to have God take him peacefully.... Thankfulness for our wonderful family...and peace to know he's no longer struggling. We should all strive to be more like Byron Cravens!! http://www.poncacitynews.com/templates/obits/301022047387908.bsp
